about

Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, millions of indigenous children were pulled away from their families and forced into residential schools. These schools were run by the Catholic Church and the Canadian government with the goal of breaking down these children's indigenous identities and assimilating them into western culture. This method of tearing First Nations people away from their culture and brainwashing them into imperialistic servitude was referred to as The Policy Of Aggressive Civilization (or Aggressive Assimilation). These facilities were rife with child molestation, disease, and abuse. Thousands of children died at these facilities and mass graves are still being discovered on these grounds. The last facility in Canada closed down as recently as 1997.
In the summer of 2021, hundreds of bodies of long dead children were uncovered at these grave sites. In retaliation, multiple catholic churches built on stolen land were burned down.

lyrics

Genocidal tools brought on by colonial vanity
Golden veins running through the earth worth more than millions of lives
Royal blade cuts through the land, bishop sings its praise
Reshaping people and their world in the name of Christ and Crown

Aggressive civilization- Conform or be destroyed
Destroying their homes and cultures- Offering only assimilation
Institutions of forced correction steal the young from their kin
Ripping indigenous identity away- bastardized into imperial loyalty

Pestilence kills by the thousands- Children are forced to bury their dead
Pedophilic priests abusing authority- Traumatizing- robbed of autonomy

[Spoken]
Strangled cries echo through time, cascading into days yet to come. The oppressions of the past serve as the foundations for ongoing strife.
Let the rage and suffering of generations collide into a single point in time, igniting the flames that eat away at the conquerors' binding structures.

Altars to a god of malevolence burn away
The outraged cry of forgotten children break through illusions of glory
And the silence of the apologists can never drown out the screams
You will live just long enough to watch your kingdom burn

Burn into the sky
